Charter Date: September 1, 1987
Our seven charter members are Elizabeth Brandson,
Dorothy Benker, Audre Brumfield, Patty Cobb, Joyce Farrell and Gloris Kovacevich.
Five charter members remain and we have added four more.
Jackson Gold Dust was organized through the efforts of Dorothy Benker,
then a member of the Cameron Park Chapter. She gathered women pilots from
the Amador Flyers Flying Club at Westover Field, Jackson, and Calaveras
Rasmussen airport in Calaveras County.
Our Chapter activities are: sponsoring FAA Safety Seminars, airmarking
Westover Field twice, flyouts with 49 1/2s for lunch and overnights, and
operating refreshment booths at Calaveras and Westover Airports during
their annual Open Houses.
One of our members, Rosalie Pryor, is a soaring enthusiast. She set
an altitude record for women in Nevada, rising to 32,818 feet.
