Charter Date: April 4, 1976
The Imperial So-Lo chapter proudly boasts
that they are a Bicentennial Chapter. They received their chapter on April
4, 1976.
The chapter is located in the Imperial Valley, which is in the southeastern
corner of Califorrnia. The whole area is below sea level; therefore, the
name -- IMPERIAL SO-LO.
One of the first activities was a thank-you-party for the sponsoring El
Cajon Chapter and some members of the San Diego Chapter. The chapter enthusiastically
participated in activities to further aviation: Assisted in many airmarkings,
safety seminars, assisted in the PPD and PAR air races, held fly-ins and
organized the Annual Mexicali International Air Races.
